We’re Abby and Josh, college sweethearts who met in our freshman engineering classes, started as friends over study groups and meals at the student union, and eventually fell in love. By senior year, we were engaged after Josh enlisted his worship band to serenade Abby with Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” Since then, we’ve spent our years building a life rooted in friendship, laughter, family, and faith. We’re excited to grow our family through adoption and would be honored to welcome a child into a home filled with love, curiosity, encouragement, and plenty of fun along the way.

After several years in the DC area, we moved back to Illinois to be closer to Abby’s family and quickly found a community that feels like home. Abby works in public policy and loves sewing, dancing, running, and connecting with people. Josh is a traffic engineer who enjoys cooking, building LEGO displays, playing instruments, and serving in our church’s worship band. Our Christian faith is an important part of our lives, and we treasure weekends spent with family and friends, dinners with our church small group, and quiet evenings curled up on the couch with our two dogs, Nora and Trevor. We can’t wait to share life’s simple joys—from park swings and backyard adventures to family traditions and discovering the world together—with a child.
