HOPING TO ADOPT

Looking to expand your family through adoption?
Gateway Woods Family Services is a licensed non-profit child placing in the state of Indiana and Illinois and is fully accredited for domestic and intercountry adoption following the guidelines of our Hague Accreditation.
The Indiana Adoption Program provides quality and affordable adoption services to persons living in central to northern Indiana. As a Christian organization, we work with adoptive families who will commit to raising an adoptive child in a Christ-centered home. This means bringing light and order to a child’s life in the place of darkness. Our goal is to make the adoption experience a true blessing to your family by walking through the process with you.
When it comes to experience, our Adoption Staff has both personal and professional experience. As a smaller agency, we are able to offer personalized services with a focus on quality. We take inquiries directly by phone so we can initially answer your questions about adoption and we interview each prospective adoptive family individually to answer your questions and concerns about adoption. We carefully match a child with his/her prospective adoptive parents keeping the child and family’s best interest in mind. We are passionate about preparing your for the adoption journey and provide training, support and resources pre- and post-adoption. Please fill out the form below if you would like more information.

What is the most popular country to adopt from and why?

International Adoption vs. Domestic Adoption
One is not better than the other but international adoption is a better match for some families and domestic adoption is a better match for other families. For international adoption the adoptive family must have an interest and desire to learn about other cultures, be willing to adopt a toddler or older child or a sibling group, be willing to travel to their child’s country of origin, be willing to complete extensive paperwork, and have patience after placement for their child’s transition to a new culture, language, and living situation. For domestic adoption the adoptive family must desire to adopt a newborn infant, be willing to be involved and minister to the birth parents, and understand that the birth mother may change her mind about adoption placement.
